Working to finish this piece and take it to a satisfactory resolution took 4 years to complete. This is the annunciation where Mary is seen in 3 different versions next to the angel Gabriel. Rejection at the news on the left turning away, contemplation in the middle as an Eastern Orthodox  Mary in their tradition iconography colors and finally acceptance as the western Mary in traditional Marian colors. The fig or any fruit tree a tradition in annunciations and the heralding angel accompanying the deliverer of the message .
